Our Mission
The First United Methodist Church Watertown, New York is a member church of the Upper New York Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. It's Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
We strive to follow the Three Simple Rules of the Founder of the Methodist Movement - John Wesley: “Do No Harm, Do Good, Stay in Love with God.” We invite you to journey with us as we strive to be God’s love to our Neighbor at all times and places.
In addition to Sunday worship and weekly prayer services, we offer a wide range of ministries and outreach programs for the community. We help people of all ages and backgrounds transform their lives through Christ.
Pastor Jennifer Stamm
Senior Pastor, First United Methodist Church of Watertown
Pastor Jennifer Stamm isn’t your ordinary pastor—she is a passionate advocate for social justice, a community builder, and a devoted mother of three. Serving as Senior Pastor at First United Methodist Church of Watertown, Pastor Jennifer has been in ministry for five years, bringing her unique blend of warmth, wisdom, and energy to her growing congregation.
Before stepping into ministry, Pastor Jennifer had a background in teaching, which continues to influence her approach to preaching and pastoral care. Her sermons are deeply rooted in practical wisdom, offering her congregation not just biblical insights but real-life applications that inspire action and change. She has a special gift for helping people understand the Scriptures in a way that connects to the challenges and opportunities they face in everyday life.
Her commitment to social justice and community building is at the heart of her ministry. Whether advocating for the marginalized or creating spaces where people from all walks of life can come together, Pastor Jennifer is driven by a desire to see God’s love in action. Our worship group meets every Sunday. We worship and study God so he can shape us into the people we want to be.

A little Child Will Lead Us, (ALCWLU), is a New Faith Community within the First United Methodist Church. We support parents in the joyful but challenging task of raising young children.
